In these brilliant clips from The Daily Show,  Jon Stewart frames the global fight for LGBT rights as an olympiad of its own, one where Russia is competing against other nations to be the most gruesome, most backwards, most homophobic nation in the world. It’s great because, just like the regular Olympics, everybody can take part!

He then goes around the world, introducing viewers to this years “homophobic hopefuls.” He travels to India, Nigeria, and Uganda, before finally settling on Russia, the “nation to beat” in the Homophobic Olympics. Aasif Mandvi joins Jon in the second clip, urging viewers not to count the USA out.
