The bookstore that fought the Canadian Supreme Court and won? Little Sister’s in Vancouver, BC. The only queer bookstore in Costa Rica, currently in danger of being sold off? Libreria Nuestras Letras.
My personal favorite is Madwimmin Books, the fictional [and, strictly speaking, feminist] bookstore in Alison Bechdel’s long-running comic strip “Dykes to Watch Out For.” With its books sporting titles like “Macho Strumpets: Neurotic Fiction” and “Getting Wet: A Guide for Amateur Plumbers,” Madwimmin was a character in its own right.
