New Black Panthers Endorse Daniels and Send Warning to Truth Wins Out
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Truth Wins Out (TWO) slammed Jacksonville City Council candidate Kimberly Daniels (D) today for unfairly using innuendo to falsely connect TWO to an alleged racist note received by her campaign. TWO demanded that Daniels immediately apologize and renewed its call for the controversial candidate to drop out of the race.
Last week, Daniels said that she received a note that read, “N-word get out of the race or else!” By coincidence, Truth Wins Out released a video of Daniels last week where she made bizarre and bigoted comments that led TWO to call on Daniels to quit her campaign.
Unfortunately, Daniels exploited the coincidence to make it appear as if Truth Wins Out might be connected to the hateful note. Daniels e-mailed an outrageous and inflammatory alert to her “Commanders of the Morning” list, which she describes on her website as, “A group of 40,000 intercessors who pray for worldwide issues.” In the e-mail she wrote:
“A group of homosexuals are launching a hate campaign against Apostle Kim tonight at 10:00 pm on Jacksonville Channel Fox 30 / Action News 47 (11:00 pm). Log in on the website and be ready to defend the truth. A note was placed on her car saying ‘N***** get out of the race of else!’ This group is demanding that she get out of the race…pray!!!”
“I am appalled that Kim Daniels would stoop so low as to attempt to conflate the racist note with our call for her to quit the campaign,” said Truth Wins Out’s Executive Director Wayne Besen. “It shows a lack of character and a contempt for the truth to spread such innuendo without a shred of evidence. We demand that Daniels immediately apologize. This incident amply demonstrates why Daniels is unfit for public office.”
In video footage released last week, Daniels preached to her flock: “You can talk about the Holocaust, but the Jews own everything.” Daniels also says, “I thank God for slavery. If it wasn’t for slavery, I might be somewhere in Africa worshipping a tree.”
Also last week, a Southern Poverty Law Center certified hate group, The New Black Panthers, endorsed Daniels. The group also sent a menacing warning to Truth Wins Out.
“If any harm comes her way, or any other black people, we will definitely respond and the consequences will be severe,” said a New Black Panthers spokesperson.
The eyebrow-raising endorsement was ironic, considering Daniels specifically condemned The New Black Panthers in a column she wrote for Charisma magazine. In the piece entitled, “A Prayer for Barack Obama,” Daniels wrote:
“We bind the resurrection of the Black Panthers (specifically the New Black Panthers). We break the power of demonic influences from any race retaliation groups in the inner cities of America. We decree that innocent black people will not be terrorized in their neighborhoods…by white supremacists, and innocent white people will not be terrorized by black supremacists.”
