I’m fairly certain the apocalypse is nigh, as I find myself cheering Bill O’Reilly on in his War On Bible Thumpers.
Bill Keller, who describes himself as the World’s Leading Internet Evangelist (whatever that means) has issued a $10,000 challenge to Bill O’Reilly, to be awarded to the charity of each man’s choice, for a debate on marriage equality. The awesome part is that Keller promises to only thump the Bible in his argument. O’Reilly, I am sure there is a cause dear to your heart, and there is no possible scenario where the prize money would not be going to your charity of choice. Check this out, y’all:
Rev. Bill Keller, the world’s leading Internet Evangelist and the founder of Liveprayer.com, with over 2.4 million subscribers worldwide reading the Daily Devotional he has written every morning for nearly 14 years on the issues of the day from a Biblical worldview, has issued a $10,000 challenge to FOX News’ Bill O’Reilly to a debate on gay marriage.
Last week on his cable TV program, O’Reilly stated that those who oppose gay marriage will never win the debate because all they do is “thump the Bible.” A “Bible-thumper” is a pejorative used to mock and demean Christians who believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God representing absolute truth and our final authority in all matters.
Keller, who has appeared in the past on O’Reilly’s program, Hannity and Colmes, numerous times on Neil Cavuto’s program and different Fox Radio programs, is challenging O’Reilly to a 6 minute debate on the “O’Reilly Factor.” Keller will give O’Reilly 3 minutes to make his argument in support of gay marriage, than [sic] Keller will get 3 minutes to make the argument in support of traditional marriage using ONLY THE BIBLE TO MAKE HIS ARGUMENT.
Keller stated, “O’Reilly says that those who support God’s plan for marriage lose the argument because all they can do is ‘thump the Bible.’ Let him put his money where his mouth is. We will each put up $10,000 to the charity of our choice, he can make his case for gay marriage, and I will ONLY use the Bible to make the case for traditional marriage.
Keller is so confident that he will prevail, he is not only willing to debate O’Reilly on his own turf, but let O’Reilly’s audience vote over 24 hours to determine the winner. He concluded, “Bill has no clue how he has demeaned Christians with his elitist ‘Bible-thumper’ remark, and has even doubled down in recent days. If he is so sure of himself it will be an easy $10,000 for the charity of his choice. Let him put his money where his mouth is or he is no different than the gutless wonders on MSNBC who will never take on those who stand for Biblical Truth on the issues of the day!”
Bwahahahahaha, so awesome. It’s funny because Keller has already lost the debate, in the above press release, with his decision only to use the Bible. Why? Because this is a policy discussion, dude. It has nothing to do with the Bible! That is why wingnuts are mad in the first place.
