bryan fischerBryan Fischer’s latest faux concern for the gay community comes in the form of a declaration that, because HIV rates are disproportionately high among black Americans, homosexuality shouldn’t be “normalized” because he just loves black men so much:

“This is black genocide,” he said.

“Let me put it bluntly,” Fischer declared. “If you are for the legalization of homosexuality, you are for the acceptability of homosexuality, you are for the normalization of homosexuality, you do not care about black males. You have no compassion in your black heart for black males because they’re being decimated by HIV/AIDS … So why am I opposed to the normalization of homosexual behavior? Because I love black males. I want black males to live long, prosperous, healthy, disease-free lives.”

That’s nice, Bryan. If you actually cared, you would replace your bigotry with a dose of science and reality and commit to using your time to work to contain the spread of HIV without resorting to fantasies of a world where gays don’t exist. Instead, what you’re doing is trying to make it appear to your low-information listeners as if you do the work you do because you somehow care about people.
