Last week, former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe wrote a long piece for Deadspin wherein he made a strong case that his pro-LGBT activism was a factor in his firing from the team. At the time, based on Kluwe’s record of outspoken truth and based on the specificity of his allegations, Truth Wins Out started a petition asking that the Vikings not consider Mike Priefer, the “bigot” Kluwe quotes in the piece, as head coach, and moreover, that he be suspended pending investigation into Kluwe’s claims. Kluwe appeared with Anderson Cooper and explained that there are other witnesses to his claims — that Priefer told Kluwe that he would be burning in hell with the gays, and that all gays should be rounded up, sent to an island, and that that island should be “nuked until it glows” — and that he made sure there were, because if there weren’t, he’d be setting himself up for an easy defamation of character lawsuit:
