Some anti-gay woman named Catherine wrote in to the 700 Club to ask Pat Robertson to solve a dilemma involving a lifelong best friend who happens to be a lesbian. Catherine is obviously not the wonderful friend she thinks she is, because she doesn’t want her children to be exposed to her friend. Pat agrees that you don’t want your kids to “grow up as lesbians,” so keeping the lesbian away from the children is the best bet. He claims that Catherine should still love her friend, though, whatever that means in the Fundamentalist Christian world.
