Brian Brown desperately wants NOM’s five undisclosed donors to believe that 2012 and 2013 have just been a fluke, and that no really, you guys, seriously, 2014 is the year they’re going to start winning again, and oh please, dear Lord, do not make Brian get a real job, he has no skills…

Yes, surely, when historians look back at 2012 and 2013, they will see all the sweeping victories for marriage equality as Americans’ realization that gay activists are just a bunch of bullies. Apparently Brian thinks that the historians of the future will be quite stupid.
Also, the “history is on our side” slogan is just really freaking sad. Of course, Brian has no choice but to double down on his delusions, because as I alluded to above, it must be quite frightening for him to instead confront the possibility that his movement, and indeed his career, is just about over.
