oregonsealThe Oregon Department Of Justice ruled late last week that there is no compelling reason for the state to refuse to recognize out of state marriages between people of the same sex, as the state has always historically recognized marriage contracts from other states. This is the Full Faith And Credit issue that will ultimately spell the end of state anti-gay marriage bans nationwide:

Effective immediately, the state of Oregon will recognize marriages of same-sex couples from marriage equality states.

The Oregon Department of Justice issued the ruling last week, noting Oregon has historically recognized marriages from other states and countries that would not have been legal to enter into in the state of Oregon. The ruling says same-sex marriages should be no different.
