Last week, I wrote a “mother of the year” story which was intended as pure sarcasm, because the mother involved was so awful. This is a real story, though, that went viral on Reddit this past Friday. It’s a typical situation: parent is at Wal-Mart or some other big box store with kids in tow, kid starts making a play for something he clearly does not need in the check-out line, parent tries to explain that “no, you already have seven million of those, and you don’t even play with them,” etc. But this one took a different turn, because the little boy involved wanted a “Sofia The First” DVD, and apparently that’s too “girly” for some dude who is also in the check-out line:
I especially like the little detail about the Gamecocks polo and the braided belt. As a Southerner, that tells me everything I need to know about the guy in line. Ten bucks says he was also wearing a baseball cap and that Croakies were involved.
Kudos to the lady in line, too. Probably made the kid’s day.
