Reaction to Midtown Attack on Gay Couple
Witnesses say two men were holding hands as they sat on the bench just as an SUV pulled up and started yelling gay slurs at the couple.
Police said the driver then got out and assaulted one man, by striking him on the head with some object.
Time and again you hear them say they don’t care what we do in the privacy of our bedrooms so long as we don’t wave it in their faces. But holding hands isn’t sex, it’s love. The “it” we’re waving in their faces is that we love. The “It” we are waving in their faces is that we are human, and their prejudices about us are completely wrong. Homosexuals don’t love, they just have sex… Of course what we do in the privacy of our bedrooms wouldn’t bother them. It wouldn’t bother them if we did it in the middle of the street. If we did it in the middle of the street it would affirm their cheapshit prejudices and they’d be happy. It is the sight of our humanity that makes them livid.
