First of all: now that I have a new laptop and am in the process of re-loading the iTunes, the Weekend Random Ten will be returning next week! If you are a newer reader, you will quickly find that this is my Happy Thing that I like to do on Friday afternoons, but it requires a fully working computer with a fully working iTunes. But at this point, there are only like two hundred songs loaded on this hard drive, so I’m just not doing it yet.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Nickel Creek this afternoon. Having written a record which surprised me by being, in large part, straight up Americana with a giant grand piano at the center [you, dear readers, will be hearing much more about this in the coming months, but suffice it to say that your Truth Wins Out Social Media Director is also a singer/songwriter/pianist, and record numero uno is coming out early next year], I’ve become fairly obsessed with bluegrass, country and Americana over the past couple of years. The first song means a lot to me, and the second is just pure fun and brilliant musicianship. Enjoy!
