Just clicking through my Google alerts, looking for something interesting to write about, and I find a piece on some website called Canada Free Press [tagline: “…Because without America there is no Free World”] which, via the most circuitous route possible, argues that the repeal of DADT is part of some sort of leftist plot to destroy the world and decrease the population and god, I don’t know what else. The second paragraph lets us know what kind of wingnut we’re dealing with:

(Sidebar: I believe that if I had sent children to be educated at Harvard—heck, most any college or university these days—I’d be seriously looking into suing to get some tuition money back. Indoctrination is not education. Good luck finding a decent conservative lawyer though—they aren’t exactly a dime a dozen. The law schools, along with journalism schools, were some of the first places that the Far Left targeted for infiltration and subversion—we can see the results in the duplicitous “reporting” and lawfare all around us.

They always are looking to blame others for the fact that higher education is dominated by liberals. They are completely unwiling to make the obvious connection — perhaps there is a strong correlation between highly educated people and liberalism! But no, for frightened people like the writer, it’s evidence of “infiltration and subversion.”

Anyway, so what had happened was:

In the late 1950s a group of conservative Harvard alumni, distressed and concerned over the increasingly leftist slant of their alma mater, started an investigation into the collectivist (Marxist, Fascist, Communist, Fabian….) infiltration of Harvard (“actually all these people are striving toward the same end—concentration of power in the hands of a few”).

[…]

The alumni found that the primary economic system being taught at Harvard was the Keynesian system—named after John Maynard Keynes (1883-1946). They found that “Keynesian economics’ is a misnomer. It is not economics. It is a leftwing political theory.”

And the author obviously knows his economics, as you can see from his bio:

Born in June of 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jim O’Neill proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1974 in both UDT-21 (Underwater Demolition Team) and SEAL Team Two. A member of MENSA, he worked as a commercial diver in the waters off Scotland, India, and the United States. In 1998 while attending the University of South Florida as a journalism student, O’Neill won “First Place” in the “Carol Burnett/University of Hawaii AEJMC Research in Journalism Ethics Award.” The annual contest was set up by Carol Burnett with the money she won from successfully suing the National Enquirer for libel.

I bet Paul Krugman never won the Carol Burnett award.

Keynes’ genius, such as it was, lay in cleverly hiding his treacherous deceits behind a fog of arcane, verbose. obfuscating language (SOP for the Far Left actually). “He clothed the clearest facts in the most complicated phraseology. In this way the clearest facts have been beclouded.”

Big words is the debbil. Which makes me wonder what “Jim O’Neill” is trying to pull here:

Indeed, so successful has Keynes’ legerdemain been…

“Legerdemain” is worth at least ten dollars, sir, and I’d like to know what kinda funny business you’re trying to pull here.

Anyway, there’s some more farting about Keynes, and then he starts getting to the gay part:

“Homosexuality, sado-machochism, lesbianism, and the liberate policy of corrupting the young was the established practice of this large and influential group which eventually set the political and cultural tone for the British Empire.”

What do you want to bet that America’s “large and influential” group of Power Elites stand where Great Britain’s stood fifty years ago? Any takers? Is it just me, or does there seem to be an inordinate amount of homosexuals, lesbians, and Keynesians in high government positions of power these days? Just asking

.Is that stimulus spending in your pocket, or are you just gay for me?

So apparently Keynes and his friends had lots of sexytime which the writer doesn’t approve of, and this has a bearing on their work, how exactly? Anyway, this all, of course, means that Keynes and his friends were trying to take over the world with their gay economics, and DADT repeal is just part of their larger plan, because they hate babies and stuff:

Is it any wonder that Planned Abortion (sorry, Parenthood) should find such strong support among the Far Left judges, lawyers, and politicians, who echo Keynes’ strong “aversion to human conception, [and] marital fidelity,” and his support for the “defeminization of women via state intervention, and the shattering of the family as a cohesive unit….”

As “Keynes at Harvard” notes, “These organized perverts acted out a distorted “Alice through the looking glass” performance. Their bleatings for equal rights for homosexuality was promptly converted into general harassment of the normal population. The cry to be left alone hid covert moves to control and exploit the heterosexual majority.”

Wingnut turning his ideological opponents into beings with superhuman powers, as usual.

Insofar as advancing that last bit, nothing has been so effective as Political Correctness—where we end up policing our own thoughts. The Seinfeld episode with the recurring “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” line, is a classic case in point.

Seinfeld is part of the conspiracy.

Dobbs continues with a quick psychological hip-shot. “Homosexual preoccupation with decreasing population and crusades for birth control has at its foundation their sense of revulsion against normal procreative sex.”

The fact that so many gays and lesbians either have or want children of their own is simply cover for the Seekrit Conspiracy, shhhhh, you guys, don’t tell anybody. The fact that we raise our kids just as well or better than straight people do is merely an indicator that we are Highly Committed To The Conspiracy.

The next few paragraphs say little, but mention the names of Kinsey, Freud and Jung, all of which are dogwhistles to the intended audience, who probably doesn’t tell you any of those men’s first names, but who have been trained to feel fear when the names are mentioned.

To get back to Keynes, homosexuality, and the Fabians…

Oh lord. Carol Burnett might want to reconsider that award…

More blathering, this time about George Bernard Shaw, and this is all leading to the main idea about the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell:

In a recent issue of the purportedly conservative magazine “The Weekly Standard,” Gary Schmitt and Cherl Miller wrote in an article about the repeal of DADT that, “Not everyone agrees with the decision to repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

Yes, I suppose it’s possible that there are a few heterosexual holdouts in the hinterlands of “fly-over country.” Schmitt and Miller continue “But its repeal does provide an opening for repairing relations between some of the nation’s top universities, and the military services….” Well we certainly can all be thankful for that! And here I was, thinking that the vociferous campus rants against the military were fueled by a leftist hatred of America, capitalism, and America’s military might. Silly me—just goes to show how wrong you can be.

Well, you’ve been demonstrating that for about 1,400 paragraphs, Mr. O’Neill.

I can tell you straight out that I am not all right with the repeal of DADT. I am so far from being “all right,” that I can’t begin to tell you how not “all right” I am.

Oh, but he’s going to try.

Elaine Donnelly of “Center for Military Readiness (CMR) writes “…repeal of the 1993 law will not go into effect until 60 days after the naïve Adm. Mullen [“naïve ” is not the word I would have used], President Barack Obama, and Defense Secretary Robert Gates jointly “certify” that the new LGBT Law will not have negative effects on military effectiveness. The incoming 112th Congress should reconsider that legislation….” (Link)

Got that House Republicans? “Reconsider that legislation.” And don’t just reconsider it—annihilate it, zap it, deep-six it, nuke it, and terminate it with extreme prejudice! It’s the most subversive, obscene piece of vile legislation ever foisted on “we the people,” and it should not stand, must not stand, will not stand.

Yeah, it’s going to make the military stronger, and perhaps next time we need Arabic translators to decode some piece of intelligence that could prevent the next 9/11, that translator won’t be in another line of work, having been kicked out for loving someone of the same gender. It’s always amazing how hysterical some of these homophobic guys get over things so simple as serving alongside gay people. As another veteran said yesterday, if you can’t handle serving alongside gay people, you probably don’t have the stones to serve, period.

I’m sick and tired of keeping my peace as my rights, religion, country, and culture are debased, dismissed, dismantled, and destroyed. I’ve endured decades of this “death by a thousand cuts.” No more.

[…]

The only pragmatic reason to repeal DADT is to weaken, demoralize, and confuse the US military. The new House Republicans say they are going to change things? They might start by having the quisling members of the Pentagon who supported the repeal of DADT exchange places with LTC Lakin and the “Leavenworth 10.” Now that would be change I can believe in.

No more “Mr. Nice Guy”—the “Welcome” mat is officially withdrawn. Now and forever.

Mister Tuff Stuff is so dramatic! Perhaps if he listened to The Smiths a little bit more, he’d find an outlet for his pain at being a white Christian dude in a society which no longer assumes he and his cohorts should automatically be in charge of everything. Anyway, so to sum up: DADT repeal is part of a global conspiracy of economists, psychologists and literary types, to hurt Big Tuff Guys and stuff, and he’s had it, No More Mister Nice Guy, no more welcome mats, BAWWWWWWWWW!

I’m convinced.
