dawsonpicDawson McAllister is under fire his slippery and duplicitous youth advice call-in show that appears on more than 140 radio stations across America. People are upset that this man is posing as a secular therapist on Top 40 radio station KISS 108 – while offering anti-gay advice to youth when they call his help line.

Talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing! Youth are sent to the discredited ex-gay organization Exodus International. The fact is, ex-gay programs do not work, they use junk science, bizarre techniques, leave a trail of victims and sometimes send youth to unqualified counselors who use dangerous and sexually abusive techniques.

Now, it turns out that McAllister is responsible for psychologically harming Exodus President Alan Chambers, turning him into the serially dishonest, double-talking head-case that he is today. According to Chambers, it was McAllister who brainwashed him when he was still a vulnerable youth:

I have no doubt Dawson McAllister’ ministry pointed Kimball to Exodus; that’ where I was led when I approached him after one of his speaking engagements almost 20 years ago as a young man grappling with same-sex attraction. Dawson was the first person I ever heard specifically say that God loves gay people. It was Dawson’ affirmation of God’ love and desire to be in relationship with me that caused me to get help.

It is now more clear than ever that McAllister has to go. He has surreptitiously pushed his fundamentalist views on unsuspecting youth. His show is no more than a stealth ministry and he lacks the decency and integrity to declare what his mission truly is.

Contact the following people and tell that it is “time for Dawson Mac to pack” his bags and head back to fundamentalist radio where he belongs.

When you call or write, do not accept referrals to Premiere Radio, which is a Christian Right company that intentionally misinforms the public about Exodus International. It is Clear Channel’ responsibility to refuse to do business with contractors that intentionally harm youth.
