Focus on the Family’s Web site today offers an unscientific readers’ poll that some may find worth a giggle — or, perhaps, a bit of rumination.

The question asked is an innocuous, yet timely one: “How do you plan to spend Valentines Day?” Readers could select from four pre-scripted responses: Forty percent of participants answered that they will spend extra time with a loved one, rather than going on a date or exchanging gifts. (Very nice, and it makes sense given the economy.)

One might assume that the date or gift response would come in second place. Nope. More than a quarter of the respondents — a whopping 26 percent — chose the answer that they will spend Saturday “hiding in a closet.”

Punchlines here are just too, too easy.
